The Culinary, Photography, and Blog Experimenter
Kristen loves food. And eating. She fearlessly attempts new, challenging, and sometimes exotic recipes in the tiny kitchen she has outgrown, but she also revisits the classics. She is not a professional photographer, and her truly ancient digital camera probably does not help the picture quality – so bear with her. Although she can fill endless amounts of time researching, writing, cooking, tasting, discussing, and revising recipes, as well as trying hundreds of new restaurants in San Francisco, she attends just finished law school and is studying for the California Bar exam just passed the California Bar Exam and is looking for an attorney gig landed the most amazing in-house contracts counsel position at BlogHer where she now works in her spare time full time.
The Official Taste Tester, Tech Department, and Periodic Cameraman
Jay also loves food, but mostly he enjoys making Kristen laugh. He thinks Kristen’s baked goods totally pwn, which is why he constantly “forgets” to bring them into work to share with others.
Why Batter Licker?
Ever since childhood, Kristen has had an unstoppable urge (frequently fulfilled, of course) to lick the batter off a bowl, spoon, finger, or any other kitchen utensil available. Whether the desire arose in defiance of her mother’s cautioning against eating raw eggs or merely from the velvety chocolate deliciousness that is brownie batter, she can hardly say. All she knows is that her predisposition towards tasting as-yet-unfinished products of culinary experimentation has continued to this very day. And she is sure she’s not alone in this. This propensity to taste batter, sauces, and most other things she cooks before she serves them has resulted in many timely recipe alterations, saving many a guest (well, mostly just Jay) from suffering through a less-than-delicious dish.
